Affiliate Disclosure
Desking App is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, and this page explains exactly what that means, how it works, and — most importantly — why it never changes what we recommend.
Transparency is not a footnote for us. If we are going to ask you to trust our verdicts, you deserve to understand how the site pays for itself and where our incentives sit. Here it is in plain language.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a normal link to a product or service that includes a unique code identifying Desking App as the referrer. If you click one of these links and later sign up or make a purchase, the company may pay us a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to the vendor directly — you are never charged more for using our link.
The short version
We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this site. It costs you nothing extra. Commissions never influence our scores, our rankings, or our editorial conclusions. Affiliate links are labelled where they appear.
How we keep money and opinion separate
This is the part that matters most. Our editorial team scores every product against the same framework before any commercial relationship is considered. A generous commission does not earn a better score, a higher ranking, or softer criticism. When a tool has real weaknesses, we say so — even when we have an affiliate relationship with the company behind it.
Scores come first
We evaluate and score products on merit. Monetisation is applied afterwards and never feeds back into the verdict.
Clear labelling
Outbound affiliate buttons carry an "Affiliate Link" label so you always know what you are clicking.
No pay-to-play
A company cannot buy a review, a ranking spot, or the removal of a criticism, at any price.
We recommend against, too
If the honest answer is "don't buy this", that is what we publish, affiliate relationship or not.
Which programmes we participate in
We take part in affiliate and partner programmes operated by the software vendors we review and by affiliate networks that represent them. The specific programmes change over time as our coverage grows. In every case, participation is a commercial arrangement that sits entirely downstream of our editorial process.
Advertising
In addition to affiliate links, we display advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense and, from time to time, direct banners sold to advertisers. Advertising is clearly distinguishable from editorial content and is governed by the same principle: advertisers cannot influence our reviews. You can learn about advertising with us on our Advertise page.
How you can support us
If our work has helped you choose a tool, using our links when you sign up is the simplest way to support the site — at no cost to you. It is what keeps Desking App free, independent and able to keep testing products properly. We are grateful for it, and we never take that trust for granted.
